Owner/ Director

Erica Metzen, has worked with children in many different capacities. Erica graduated from Chico State in 2009 with a degree in Liberal Studies with the intention of attending the credential program. Life changed for Erica, when she decided to pursue a career in finance. After years in the field, Erica knew that she would soon find her way back to working with children. As a mother herself to her son Paul, she knows first-hand how important it is to find the right place for your child. Erica is excited for this new adventure with her business partner Shannon as she knows both of them will help provide a wonderful center for people in the community to send their children to. 

Jessica grew up in Somona County where she was inspired to teach from her mother's work as an art teacher. Jessica has a bachelor's degree in child Develpoment from Chico State University of Chico. Jessica is thrilled to be a part of the Acorns to Oaks family. She believes in creating a warm, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every little one feels valued and supported. She is dedicated to fostering a love for learning through play. exploration, and hands-on activities. In her classroom she will encourage kindness, respect and collaboration.

Melanie is a Teacher’s Aide in the Preschool. She has babysat many different children from friends and family for over ten years. Melanie is excited to have this opportunity to work with kids professionally. She is currently enrolled at Butte College having received her Early Childhood Education Certificate she is now working towards her certificate in Child and Family Studies with the goal of becoming a social worker one day! She looks forward to watching your children learn and grow. 

Daniella was born and raised in Tulelake, Norhtern California. She has always been passionate about working with children since high school. She is currently pursuing a major in Child Development and a minor in Psychology at Child State. She will be graduating in the spring of 2026. She is thrilled to be a part of such an incredible team that shares her passion for making a positive impact in the lives of children.

Cheyanne is from Rocklin CA and is currently a sophomore at California State University of Chico studying Child Development. She has been in childcare since 2021 where she 

began as a preschool age gymnastics coach. She loves working with children and helping to be a part of their academic and social learning. She is very excited to get started in her career in the classroom and watching kids grow and learn.

Dakota was born in Redding California. In Redding she began her journey in childcare when she was 15 years old. Volunteering at her church's infant and toddler rooms as well as babysitting for families. During high school she completed her Early Childhood Education units at UC Merced so she could continue her journey at a preschool. She started as an aide, then moved her way up to be the head teacher of the classroom. She plans to continue her education at California State University of Chico to pursue phychology. In Dakotas free time she enjoys crocheting gifts for friends and family. Some of her favorite things to make include stuffed animals, bags, cardigans and blankets.
