Running her own Family Child Care for the past four years has been a blessing. Shannon is very excited for this new adventure to be a positive and supportive person for all future families.

Erica Metzen, has worked with children in many different capacities. Erica graduated from Chico State in 2009 with a degree in Liberal Studies with the intention of attending the credential program. Life changed for Erica, when she decided to pursue a career in finance. After years in the field, Erica knew that she would soon find her way back to working with children. As a mother herself to her son Paul, she knows first-hand how important it is to find the right place for your child. Erica is excited for this new adventure with her business partner Shannon as she knows both of them will help provide a wonderful center for people in the community to send their children to.

Chong is the lead teacher in the Owls room. She graduated from Chico State University with a bachelor's degree in child development. Chong has been in childcare for 9 years. She is passionate and enjoys working with children and watching` them grow.

Kayla is the lead teacher in our infant room. She is certified in Early Childhood Education and has had the pleasure of working with children for the past eight years.

Sandra is the lead teacher for our Fox Room. She has worked in childcare for over 12 years. She has worked alongside various teachers and mentors in several school districts with children from the ages of infancy through high school, along with children in Special Education. She continues to make positive impacts on each of her student'

Emma moved to Chico from San Jose. Emma graduated from Chico State with a degree in Child Development in the fall of 2024. With a lifelong passion for working with children, she looks forward to continuing to grow and contribute in this field.

Ashley is a teacher's aide in the chipmuck room. Ashley is currently attending Butte College and plans to transfer to California State University of Chico to pursue a career in education. This is Ashleys first job is childcare and is absolutely loving it. Ashley loves to watch the kids learn more each day.

She started as an aide, then moved her way up to be the head teacher of the classroom. She plans to continue her education at California State University of Chico to pursue phychology. In Dakotas free time she enjoys crocheting gifts for friends and family. Some of her favorite things to make include stuffed animals, bags, cardigans and blankets.

Amelia is the Director of Acorns to Oaks second location. She graduated from Chico State with a BA in Child Development in the spring of 2023. She has always dreamt of being a teacher and is very passionate about working with children.

Ashley is 38 years old and has moved to Chico from Oklahoma where she spent her first 37 years of her life. Ashley is happily married. Ashley has been in childcare for 8 years and it is her passion. She loves making messes with children and watching them learn new things. She is currently in the process of getting her degree in Child Development.

Miss. Natalia is a Chico local with 3 years of infant care experience and a lifelong journey of working with children in varying capacities. Currently she is studying Child Development at Chico State University and is expecting her B.A. in the Fall of 2026. Natalia plans to pursue her PK-3 teaching credential post grad.

Asia is one of 10 adopted children. Asia has always had a passion for working with children. She first began supporting young learners as a high school volunteer at a preschool, and that early experience inspired her to continue this path. She is currently completing her college education with a focus on child development and psychology.
